Jeanne Cooper
My Journey with Open Circle MCC
In 2018, I made the significant decision to move from Woodbridge, Connecticut, to The Villages, Florida. After settling in Florida, I began attending services at Open Circle MCC in 2019. My involvement with the church grew steadily, and I soon became a member. Following Pastor Rob’s departure, I became the third member of the Board, working alongside Lynne Jones and Helen Felicky.
Over the years, I have been actively involved in many aspects of church life at Open Circle MCC. I am a member of the sound and technology team and also contribute by helping with kitchen duties, participating in both holiday setup and takedown, and engaging in Sunday services as a reader and choir member. I have helped coordinate various fundraising events and assist with other responsibilities as needs arise.
Currently, I serve as Secretary on the Board of Directors. I have also represented our church as a Lay Delegate, attending the UFMCC National Conference in Arizona.
Open Circle MCC has provided a supportive and inclusive spiritual home where I can connect with others and deepen my faith.
Angel Palermo

Angel Palermo was born in the Bronx and raised in Queens, NYC along with his 2 brothers. He graduated Murry Bergtraum HS for business careers. He was a paralegal, then studied and became a NYC EMT-D. He first attended a service at Open Circle MCC in 2011 and joined that same year. He found his church home and participated as much as he could. He served on the board in the capacity of Clerk for 4 years. He played a large role in the construction of the new sanctuary. When the time came around again, he ran for and was elected to the Board of Directors in the capacity of Treasurer. He is dedicated to Open Circle.
Katie
A Retired Letter Carrier
I was born in New York City, raised on Long Island, and spent most of my adult life in northern New Jersey, emigrating to Florida in 2018. A retired Letter Carrier, my proudest accomplishment was raising a family. Though life has thrown me many curve balls, I've always felt that there was something looking out for my well being. Finding Open Circle, MCC at the suggestion of a close friend, I have found a church that has welcomed me with open arms. I feel blessed to have gotten here.
